Marita Georganta is a mathematician and self-taught computer vision engineer, with a passion for robotics and space. She earned her BSc in Mathematics and is currently finishing up her MSc in Space Technologies in the University of Athens, Greece. Marita has worked as the CTO of an earth observation startup in Stockholm, Sweden, where she worked on autonomously detecting natural disasters from space. Additionally, she has worked with a variety of organisations tackling important problems such as wildlife protection, search & rescue operations, and vision based navigation, as well as unknown terrain mapping with the European Space Agency. She is also volunteering as project coordinator for Women In Aerospace-Europe. She is now a Robotic Sensing Expert and Researcher at IAAC.
